Barbro Avellan weaves functional textiles for interior decoration using her own color and austere and timeless design. She works with natural materials and strives to bring out the material’s unique qualities using composition and technique. Barbro also weaves for custom-made orders. She has received the acknowledgement of “excellent archipelago handi-crafts” for two of her collections. Barbro sells her textiles in her shop, Fäktargubben, in Mariehamn, where she also sells handicrafts and art made by other local artists.
